I did it! made 2 bloom.
Ok so my hirtzii bloomed and I was so so happy. I also got my Ken Dole to bloom but not well and the second bloom that was coming on the same spike dried up.
I am having some problems with all of my Masd's. All new growth is smaller than old growth and they have black spots on the tips of the leaves. Then turn yellow and fall off. I am sure it is not to much fert as when it started I was not really fertilizing as I was to busy. I gave them some Epsom salts with gypsum and I thought they got a bit better.
I'm not really sure if I am watering enough still trying to figure them out. Also there is green algae on top of them.
I was using Ro water this winter but have only been using rain water all summer. I have a humidifier over the top of them running 24 hours a day. I was putting colidal silver in it to keep algae from growing in there. I have stoped using it and they seem to be a bit better. could this be the problem.
Temperature has been good I think they have never gotten over 75 degrees all summer and mostly in the 60's. It has been a cool summer and humidity I try and keep in the 70's. Also very first thing in the morning they were getting sun for maybe at the most 2 hours. Not sure I think it was from 5:00 to maybe 7:00 or 7:30, it has now changed and is not on them direct.
I have pictures of my hirtzii in bloom and you can see the black and yellow just starting. I will try and get more pictures.

Thanks, it is budding again as we speak. Do you have any thoughts on the tips of the leaves and the smaller new growth?

I have one last Masdie that I will try and sell at our meeting next week. I had those issues with all my Masdies and a lot of spotting. I even contacted Ecuagenera with photos and they said it was heat stress. I did my best to keep mine cool and with humidity but I guess it wasn't enough. That would be my guess as to what is going on with yours. It doesn't take much heat before these object to it or so it seemed with mine.

Thanks silken I suppose it could be. They are in a Northeast facing window so the sun was shinning on them first thing in the morning. That might be it, but now the sun has shifted so it is no longer shinning on them.
The hottest I believe they have gotten is 77 degrees and that was the other day when I was gone. It has been a cool summer so it has been easy to keep them cool. I have upped the humidity a bit so we will see.
Thanks Tommy I was so exited to get those blooms and now already going to get more. This one must be very easy to grow if even I can get it to bloom.
