Man this thread is frightening me. I have a terrarium chock full of plants and have some these snails in there. I remove them when I see them but I haven't really gone after them. I can't treat the plants. THe plants cannot be removed from the tank. I would have to treat the entire tank. Wow, not sure what to do now. Would hate to introduce any chemicals to the tank.

I've had decent luck treating my collection, which summers outside, to a good soaking of strong, cooled coffee. I've read that the caffeine kills the snails. Last year, I spritzed coffee on a few snails, and they were dead within minutes. After treating the entire collection twice last fall, I was snail-free all winter indoors. After 5 months outside, I have a few snails again this fall. I treated just last night and will treat again in two weeks. Cheap, safe, and it seemed to work.

I just found some in my cool tank also. I have just been picking them off so far but I know that is not the answer.I even know where they came from, I got them from a vendor in VA. I havn't seen any damage on anything yet so I guess I will just keep monitoring them.I don't think there is any such thing as 2 or 3 of the little monsters....Jean

Snails eat orchids. I show no mercy. I throw snail pellets on the medium which kill them everytime.

Yep, they love growing root tips so you might not see the damage until it's too late. You need to kill them with unrelenting force.
