You are very brave! I keep my plants in a terrarium type large glass and I can give them the right light and humidity but making them bloom is very hard....Good Luck on your great haul....

...or foolish! But I'm willing to try! Thanks for the terrarium idea, I'll keep that in mind. I hope you get your Restrepia to bloom. That would be nice to see.

Default Restrepia

I'm eating breakfast and I just happened to look at my Restrepia and I saw this HUGE bug on it! I thought at first it was a cricket...but it was staying still, so I went over there...only to find it was a flower! Photos of this plant's flower are not as good as having the real thing! I'm psyched with this plant--can you imagine how eerie this plant will look covered in blooms? I'm wondering if that is how it attracts pollinators other than orchid growers? LOL

We don't have cockroach this big in Indiana, but I think they call them Palmetto bugs in Florida?
