Masdevallia asterotricha
I'm so excited my little Masd. asterotricha plant bloomed. Here are pictures of the bud and the flower the next day.

Thank you, this is officially the first Masdevallia species plant that my partner and I bloomed ourselves. For a couple of beginners, we're so excited to have some kind of validation that we're doing something right.

I haven't heard of this one let alone seen it before. I really like it.

Masdevallia asterotricha
Welcome to the board nowd! Showing us a beautiful yellow flower AND the plant is a great way to introduce yourself. I see other plants in the background, are you a Masdevallian? Some of us are "specifist" while others of us are "generalists" which orchidist are you? LOL You don't have to answer.

Although my partner and I just started collecting orchids last December, I quickly gravitated towards Masdevallias. So yes, personally, I'm a "Masdevallian"

Here's the same flower in profile. I find that seeing the side or back view of a Masdevallia often adds to its fascinating trait.
