Pleurothallis picta - another "little guy" with huge appearance! Warm growing, and great multi-spike bloomer!

Bright and festive cluster of blooms....you are lucky to have your kind of environment. I never manage to flower any of my Pleurothallids....its my humidity and temperature issue....

Thanks Bud and sorry to hear. Did you try some simple setup for the inside, like I have inside the apartment, I am using different glass vases and bowls, just some small size stone mix, life moss and having pots sitting on the top, it seems to work for many of my miniatures just great. But the true is, even inside, our humidity is probably much bigger than yours. My mini's love it here, I just got 2 Pleurothallis calyptrostele mini,s some month ago, one mounted on hygrolon, one mounted on cork, hygrolon one is inside, the cork one is outside, both are in spike within month, even it says they do bloom fall/winter:-)

Cute lil buggers! Nice flower shots as well. How large is an individual flower?

Bud, you might have better luck with them in a terrarium.

Right, my version of a mini terrarium is : I bought a two gallon 'Ball' jar and put clay pellets about two inches at the bottom, and an inch level of water making the Leca moist....the small pots are hanging on wires at the rim of the jar....its been like that for two years....I guess the plants are still seedlings and needs to mature before it blooms....hope springs eternal....

Thanks Paul, they are small but not as tiny as on my other miniatures, I would say between 1-2cm.

I think Bud that's exactly the setup you need, maybe they just really need to grow little bit more:-) Hope they will bloom for you soon!
