Sorry, didn't see the question before.

It's a complex: Fraseri x John Tomaschke.

Fraseri
M. coccinea x M. ignea

John Tomaschke
M. Heathii x M. discoidea

M. Heathii
M. ignea x M.veitchiana
I had a feeling ignea was in there with the coccinea. Very nice combination.

Yup.

The fascinating thing about this flower is how different it looks in different kinds of light. When I first saw it, I described the color as "Cabernet".

Having looked at it during various moments of the day, I could have easily mistaken it for being quite a few totally distinct plants. I've also had it indoors and out, and of course even in the car, and it always seems to show a different facet of it's personality.

Perhaps we could trade divisions some time. If you are interested. After I get my database caught up, I can give you a list.

Couple of YEARS you must think I have patience.

Patience is a virtue, poses it if you can, it's always in a woman, but seldom in a man

Hee, hee, hee my Irish grandmothers saying. But she usually said never in stead of seldom.
