Really cool one.
The flowers are held very upright in the picture of the whole plant. Did you train them that way or is it just the way they grow?

Thanks, Rosie. This one grows with nice upright spikes. I wouldn't have time to train them.

Very cute. I've been looking at your photo's. Why do you grow them in live sphagnum? Is it the looks or do they do much better this way?

Thanks, Shannon. I grow in live sphagnum because it keeps the roots moist in my humid conditions without retaining too much water. I do not, however, pack the sphagnum very tightly - tightly enough to hold the plant but not jammed in as it sometimes is with plants that one purchases. Sphagnum does not work very well IMO where the humidity is low, it tends to be either too wet or too dry then. I also use net pots which keep the sphagnum from becoming too wet.

Well I guess i will see how it does in my not so humid conditions. I have 3 and they are in clay pots with sphagnum.
I very well may try some in net baskets and see if there is any difference.

The advantage of the clay pots is that they do keep the plant cooler and are not as bad as plastic pots which keep the sphagnum soggy wet
