Scaphosepalum rapax spiking
mounted on hygrolon in October, first 2 months I did grow it in mini vivarium, it was doing fine, having one spike from time to time, once switched on hygrolon, there is 14 spikes now! This is definitely one of my most favorite Scaphosepalums, the bloom is pretty big and so interesting, shape and color!

Thanks Hector, it is "mini" but really big for mini, it has at least some 30 plus leaves I would say:-)

Yeah Kevin, they really did appear from nowhere within one week, I see such a difference for this one to be on hygrolon and not outside:-)

Often a closeup photo shows more details than a view with a man's eye.

Euplusia, that's definitely so very true for all the minis, they look amazing on macro photos:-)

Oh, I forgot to mention that you shouldn't cut off old spikes on this species as they can and do rebloom.
