I just finished posting a reply to M. Decade about how much I love section Durae.
Ok, so according to the authority, C. Luer
If the synsepal is about 4 cm broad it will be either M. princeps or M. regina.
If the synsepal is 3cm or less broad M. titan or M. goliath.
For M. goliath, they are typically dark red-purple sepals with dorsal sepal 30 mm long, 12 mm wide, and tail 9-10 cm long.
Lateral sepals are fused to form a shallow broadly concave synsepal 35mm long, 28mm wide, tails 9-10cm long.
For M. princeps, the sepals are orange with dark purple spots which become larger toward the center. Dorsal sepal 30mm long, 18 mm wide and sepaline tails 15 cm long.
Lateral sepals are 35 mm wide forming a semi-orbicular synsepal about 40mm long, 40-45mm broad, deeply concave, and tails 15 cm long.
