Thanks Natalie
This one had some small leaves while it was struggling last year, but is growing larger ones again now. There are several smaller ones on the side of the plant with the flower, but new ones on the other side are quite large.
With one of my other Masdies I found it's original leaves when bought were longer and thinner, it grows far more compact with shorter broader leaves for me. I've heard that's due to higher light levels that I keep these in.

I officially request a tour of your greenhouse! This is absolutely brilliant!!! What a lovely glowing orange it is. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Thanks Tindo, but my greenhouse is not big enough for a tour, however I do love the Masdivallia corner just now. This one has about 15 flowers just now, although in the last week the flowers got attacked by slugs, it was looking great until then

It can get quite warm (well warm for here). I'm going to have to try and roughly remember what it does, I read thermometer most days when I go out there, but don't make careful notes.
I've seen it go up to 28C/82F but more usually it will spend most of the summer roughly between 18C/64F and 23C/73F it might drop a little lower at night but tends to stay above 16C/60F.
In winter it ranges between 5C/41F and 10C/50F spending most of the time probably in the middle of that range.
Spring and Autumn it ranges somewhere in between. Just now it's tending to be about 7C/44F at night and 12C/53F in the day but our weather is currently getting steadily colder.
Although the summer range is probably similar to our house the masdies don't do well in the house. I keep the roots always damp in moss with clay pots, there is a lot of cooling in the root zone with evaporation and in the summer the pots are noticeably cold to the touch, so I don't think they roots are getting as warm as the outside air. Then for well over half a year the temps are lower than they would be in the house.
