I was at the Portland AOS meetings and there was someone there selling a ceramic tree for orchids and what impressed me was the fact that not a single one of the all the orchids she had mounted had roots attached to the ceramic, so I'm probably not the person to ask about attaching one of these. Nice to hear though that you are having success.
Ron, thanks for the response. My understanding of the swamps stick system is that the roots don't attach, but sort of meander over the surface. I have 2 restrepias that have been on them for a year now and they are doing very well. The advantage of this system is that the plants are easily removed if necessary, and the stick/reservoir can be used again. I use them mostly to grow some cooler temps., moisture loving pleuros in a not so ideal environment. So far so good.
