Great little plant. Would this be a candidate for a swamp stick? I have recently started an experiment with these and so far I am impressed.

I was at the Portland AOS meetings and there was someone there selling a ceramic tree for orchids and what impressed me was the fact that not a single one of the all the orchids she had mounted had roots attached to the ceramic, so I'm probably not the person to ask about attaching one of these. Nice to hear though that you are having success.

Ron, as usual, you've posted another great plant that I'd love to attempt to grow! This one is truly tiny.

On another note, I heard from my friend on Wednesday, and we have germination!!!

Yes, he sent me a note as well letting me know. Great news! Thanks, too, for commenting on the Masdevallia.

Ron, thanks for the response. My understanding of the swamps stick system is that the roots don't attach, but sort of meander over the surface. I have 2 restrepias that have been on them for a year now and they are doing very well. The advantage of this system is that the plants are easily removed if necessary, and the stick/reservoir can be used again. I use them mostly to grow some cooler temps., moisture loving pleuros in a not so ideal environment. So far so good.

That makes sees to me. The evaporation and coolness of the ceramic would certainly be of help and so would the added humidity. Thanks for the info.
