I've heard that, too, Sonya. Hope you find one but if you don't let me know and I'll send a division next spring.

Thanks I just waded into a few Masdies this year - somewhat warmth tolerant hybrids - they've done well except for showing some heat stress from the very hottest days in summer.

Hybrids have always done better for me under warmer conditions.

Ron, how long did the flowers last on this plant? I've got mine blooming right now and am wondering if the flowers will last until the next orchid meeting.

Hi Steve,
They generally last a couple of weeks for me, so you should be okay. They are not as ephemeral as some of the larger Draculas.

Beautiful flower....this is a warm tolerant variety....but I have transfered my plant on a cooler shadier part of the window since September but still being covered by the humidifier....hopefully it blooms for me soon just as I have given up on my Masdies that finally bloomed for me....

This does better in a dark corner of my orchidarium, Bud. When I gave it more light the leaf tips died back, it yellowed and it didn't bloom well.

Should have added that warmth tolerant often means that it prefers the cooler end of things.

Doesn't apply in every case, but in my experience "warmth tolerant" is different than warm growing or even intermediate growing and only means that a plant will take some warmer temps without immediately passing on as the cooler growing Masdevallias will (I hope that makes sense).
