Can you help me identify this Masdevallia?
(Right after taking this photo, I found a slug eating the flower )

Possibilities:
Masdevallia Bella Donna (not round enough, no up and down pink stripes)

I am thinking that M. coccinea (for the pink) and (for the roundness) M. constricta or M. infracta are in the family tree.

M. Snow Leopard looks very similar in color, flower shape, and leaves. It's the second picture.

There are lots of possibilities! Have you tried looking at Ecuagenera's web site? They sell tons of them and you might find a possible match. Below is a link to the Masdevallia section at Ecuagenera.

It's probably a hybrid, not a species, which is what Ecuagenera specializes in.

The link I gave you is for their hybrids part of the catalogue and there are 4 pages. Or you could look the species pages for possible parents.

Maybe someone else will jump in with some ideas, but I think this might take some Googling!

Oh thank you. I didn't realize they had that many hybrids. I guess I always just looked at their species only.

Forestview orchids in Agassiz, bc. He had it labelled as M. Redwing, which it is clearly not.

Oh, too bad. Terry and Charlotte from ForestView are very nice to deal with. Maybe he could give you the name of his source so you could ask them or maybe he can tell you what it is, or give you a replacement for the Redwing if that is what you wanted. Our society orders from them at least once every year.

I bought it from him with the understanding that it was NOID. It's ok, I didn't mean anything against him, and would recommend him. He was awesome, both to buy from, and to learn from at his paph culture presentation at the OSA.
I will definitely buy from him in the future.

The plant being mislabeled wasn't his fault, and I didn't mean to imply anything negative.
