Default Masd. veitichiana and Masd. strobelii

Hey all , i've just put my 2 Masdies inside this old aquarium for extra humidity and I'd like a second opinion on a couple of questions/problems I've encountered.

First off they are sitting near a north window inside a bathroom and I'm not sure they get the maximum humidity. I've kept the top open so that they get more ventilation.
Should i close the top so that more humidity builds up inside the glass ?
Also a general quote i know they don't need much light but would a LED lamp ,that i used on the same aquarium for my clown fish, be beneficial for their growth or would that be to much light ?

Well the window they are standing under is open but there are no fans or anything else that would boost the circulation. Also the doors to the bathroom and to the room the bathroom is in are also open. Should I put a fan over the tank?

I don't think you will need a fan over the tank. That will blow away all the humidity that you are trying keep around the plants. If you put a lid on the tank, then you could add a small fan. I would also add the LED light. Seems kind of dark there, even for Masdies.

On another note, I have to say that you are using a very expensive tank for the orchids!! lol

I've moved the whole tank to a wider northen window where the plants will be able to collect much more light since isurus was probably right and they needed more light.

What troubles me atm is that Masd veitchiana while showing 2 new growths has one of the leaves turning yellow. Would that be from watering , lack of light or is it natural for the plant i do not know.

Anyone has any idea ?

Thanks

Edit: I'm adding photos showing the yellowing leave and new growth

I have several masdies and the older leaves occasionally turn yellow and fall off.
I have mine in a semi-enclosure, with plastic on 3 sides, edges open and an ultrasonic humidfier on the 4th side. They are in a sunny in the winter shaded in the summer south facing window. The part of the house where they are is air-conditioned in the hottest weather.
I'm looking at setting up a terrarium for some of them. I'm not sure how to handle the air flow versus humiditiy issue, either.

When I used to keep Masdies in a fish tank I would hang them from the top on the inside of the tank. Then I would have a few inches of water at the bottom of the tank like you have. I would place a fogging unit, the kind they sell of the reptile/amphibian hobby. Then I also had a computer fan (also used int he reptile/amphibean hobby) to circulate the air constantly.
I had some success with this setup, but I also had some good sunlight. Masdies like a moderate amount of sun, mine bloomed under the conditions above with 4 months of direct winter sun here in NYC. As the summer approached the sun would no longer enter the window because it was too high in the sky, which was fine because it would be too strong and too hot for them in the summer months.

About the yellow leaves, you should be concerned if the plant starts to loose leaves on a daily or weekly basis, or if they continually loose leaves without replacing them.
