Default Great looking plant

Very nice NOID masdevallia that you found; looks like it is in a cachepot (perhaps with a plastic pot on the inside...) should there be a growers # on the pot you might be able to do a bit of digging and come up with a name...
I agree that it looks like it might have some Masd. veitchiana in it...or perhaps some Masd. ignea...
Whatever the parents are, it'd be a keeper in my collection.

You and I have the same problem. (You get yours at Fred Meyer, too?) I have the same orchid only mine has the mysterious tag reading Masd Tala Sca (Anthura) 9/14/06.
I live in southeastern Washington in the desert so am very concerned in how to keep it cool (and how cool should it be?) over the summer. Its no trouble now as its still quite cold at night to keep the household temps down but come summer when its in triple digits outside it'll be way too expensive to keep the thermostat in the 60's. Any suggestions on how to keep this pretty little one cool?

the one in the picture looks like Masdevallia Amazone 'Samanta'. I have found any possible combination in the ortography of the name Amazona, amazon, Samantha, Samanta, Samanthe, in internet. I saw one plant a while ago and fall in love with it. It's supposed to be warm-intermediate! Somewhere I read it is a hybrid with a very high germination-rate and also very easy to clone, which has made it available in "standard" flower shops and for a quite low price.

just my

P.D.- Friends gave me one as a present not long ago, and decided to call Masde. Amy Samy instead, and honouring my cousin who has the same nickname
