Masdevallias in flower (plus one passenger)

Hi all, it's Masdevallia season. I have taken photos of ones in flower but have missed a few plants as well. Anyway enjoy what I've taken:

Magic Dragon - I decapitated 5 flowers during staking, I have big hands and they apparently are little flowers. There are still close to 40 flowers and buds but it looked a bit more filled in before I knocked them off........










Charisma 'Phil' - the first time I have flowered this division, it had two flowers but one has already finished. Next year hopefully will have a bunch.

Bob Hoffman 'Anya'

I have divided this one, they both had 4 flowers but 2 on one plant have already finished.






Machu Pichu 'J.V.' - always disappointed with photos of this. It's like purple velvet which never comes through.








Now for something different - Purple Shield. I hadn't seen this one before I located it on Ebay by accident. It has the most vibrant coloured and stunniing foliage. Love it!!!

Gorgeous Masdies! It's not very noticable that there are spikes missing on the first one. Myra Capricornia is gorgeous, I'd seen striped masdies before, but never mottled ones like that.

As for that non orchid, wow! It has such an incredibly nice color.

iv'e been trying my hand at masdies.... and thus far iv'e had one flower on my masd picea, and 8 buds on my masd rolfeana are soon to open..... surely can't wait.......

your ( Bob Hoffman 'Anya' ) is just gorgeous... and i'll be keeping an eye out for one of these.....

Oy! That first masdie got turned into a pincushion! LOL Love the flowers on that one! The others aren't too shabby either. heh

Strobilanthes dyerianus (Persian Shield) are lovely and can get quite large. They like lots of sun -- at least here in my area.
