This is a fairly small flower on a very long stem! The flower is about 2cm wide x 3 cm high (less than 1 inch x less than 1.5 inches) and it sits on top of a nice long stem (well clear of the foliage) that is 28 cm (11 inches) tall.
I've not seem many Magdalenas with so pronouced a yellow throat colour (from the Masd. uniflora parent). I like it very much, too! It is hard to tell from photos, but the 'tails' are actually orange.
Tin, Magdalena is a hybrid of (M. coccinea x M. uniflora) - so, yes, Columbia x Peru!
