What a cutie!

I love these little guys and have Dryadella pusiola in bud at the moment. I am also a little confused as the buds appear to be completely clear from the outside. When checking the picture and description of pusiola from Jay's site it appears that the flower is spotted? The foliage and size of the plant is a lot smaller than simula. The foliage matches the description for pusiola but the buds at them moment definitely don’t unless I have some other species or an album variety of the species. When the buds open I will post a picture for any ideas from other members.

Thanks! Isn't it disconcerting when they don't seem to match.... Mine definitely showed its spots even in bud. It is possible that you've got an var. album of the species wouldn't that be cool?! Can't wait to see your photos!

Well, I've had a better chance to examine the flower today (Todd, you'll be pleased to know I *did* get out my magnifying glass! LOL!) and going just by flower morphology, it seems to match hirtzii as the lower petals do not flare out on the outer edge as they do in simula. But, on the other hand, the inside edge doesn't seem quite angular enough. Also some of the spots do seem to 'run together' something that photos of hirtzii show, but those for simula don't.

I am more confident now that I have a correctly named plant! Thanks all!
