nice flowers..better check them prices on the vampiras...heh you might not be in such a hurry

if you must have one check them at mountain orchids to get the 'zorba' when they ready to sell again

Only other one I have found available is from Orchids of Los Osos. I'm watching my lone dracula. After 3 months he still looks good and gets about 1 bloom a month.Very insignificant bloom too I might add. Just wanted to try one before I buried 2.

Hey, at least you've managed to bloom a drac -- & with you in Houston! I have 2 that I have had for a couple years an nary a bloom in sight. (Not really surprising, I'm sure my temps are too warm.)

Dracula vampira can only handle temperatures up to the mid 80's F to low 90's fairly well. Anything above that and they start showing signs of suffering. They will commonly get spotting or have leaves turn yellow before falling off in temperatures that go into the high 90's F and into the low 100's F - especially if they're exposed to these kinds of highs over an extended period of time.

Anything below 36 F and they don't do well either. I had lost a Dracula vampira because of the occasional Arctic winds that blew down across SoCal a few years back.
