Beautiful as always Ron!! Where does one find live sphagnum moss? I have been telling myself I need to get some sphag, but haven't yet. I would really rather have live if I can get it.

I get it from a muskeg (floating bog) south of where we live - get a big bag of it in the fall that lasts me all year. Check around - someone may know where you can find it in your area. No matter where we've lived we've always been able to find it. One does have to be a bit careful with live sphagnum since it can harbor a disease whose name I can't remember - i.e., gloves if you have cuts or sores on your hands.

Do you find it near bodies of water (springs, creeks, lakes?). I will definitely wear gloves, thanks for the heads up. I like to dig in the dirt in bare hands, so I would have gone bare handed!

Swamps, bogs, in this case a floating bog.

Beautiful photography as always, Ron! And an exceptional subject!

This is near the top of my wishlist. Hopefully I'll settle somewhere that isn't too hot (or that I can afford A/C ) so I can get more Masdies, including this beauty!
