Awesome species with a great name.
Photographed at Ecuagenera's main (cooler-growing) nursery in Gualaceo, Ecuador (near Cuenca).

I like the "grape-y" color of some of the Alaticaulia group, too.
They're the easiest of the Masdevallias to grow well - it was wonderful to see how much variety there is in the group.

I don't know why, but for some reason the first picture makes me think of a wood stork....
Birds and orchids, my two obsessions- well after photography.
Nice shots, cool plant.
