Default Stelis hallii

I am being surprised over and over by the beauty of the Stelis species here. Not all of them shine when viewed from a distance (although some do); but they make up for it by being exceptionally beautiful (or at least interesting!) up close.
Photographed at Ecuagenera's main (cooler-growing) nursery at Gualaceo, Ecuador (near Cuenca).

It's a slippery slope when you're admiring Stelis! I've got a bunch more of these to put up. They're really neat.

Ron Hanko has shown Stelis before and I loved his pictures too. At the last show I went to I found myself spending the most time at the stall with the tiny tiny tiny orchids. Plurothalid alliance is definately going to be high on my buy list for 2011

Ecuagenera comes to one of the shows in Great Britain every year. If you have a special desire, you can email ivan@ecuagenera.com or sales@ecuagenera.com.

And of course, Ron's Stelis (and all the others) photos are amazing.
