Default Masd. hirtzii

My Masd. hirtzii is blooming like never before - worry a bit sometimes that it's going to bloom itself to death.

Pictures of the individual flowers and the whole plant in bloom, along with a description, can be found here:

Just gorgeous!!!
Can they really bloom themselves to death?

Thanks, Joann and Tindo. I don't know if a plant can bloom itself to death, but when they keep producing more and more flowers I start to wonder if something is wrong.

It's wonderful. I've loved the look of this once since I first saw one of your photos a year or more back, now with three flowers it looks even better.

I would guess that if the plant seems otherwise healthy (i.e. not making a last ditch attempt to reproduce) then lots of flowers are just a sign of a good healthy happy plant. With your growing experience I would think it's the healthy plant

Thanks for commenting, Rosie. It actually has about 30 flowers - I haven't counted them - there's a picture of the whole plant on the blog.
