Default Masdevallia floribunda

About 1 1/2 years ago I almost lost this one mounted in a terrarium to mealy bug, during my great mealy bug war of 2007/08.
I cleaned it off, put it in some sphagnum, only had a few leaves left, and put it with the rest of my masdies. Now for the first time ever, it has given me multiple blooms living up to its name sake.

7 flowers total. A personal best.
I am having a really good Masdie year.

Beautiful! Nicely grown and good job saving it from the mealybugs. I really hate those nasty little critters...

You saved it from miniature vampires and now it rewards you with health and flowers. How neat!

I just bought a Masdi floribunda yesterday at an orchid fair. It has paler flowers than yours, there is a cultivar name but I'm not sure I trust it as that cultivar has darker flowers when I look on line. Looking at pictures of floribunda in general it can go as pale as mine though so I'm happy with the species label.

I bought it with 2 flowers and 5 or 6 buds and they are sooooo tiny and cute.

Just got to see if I can grow it now!
