This is growing on a chunk of EcoWeb from First Ray's Orchids. I sliced it open about halfway down with a razor blade, then tucked the roots in with a bit of sphagnum moss. I used a small piece of stiff wire to "staple" it shut again. I put some coir (coconut husk), sphagnum, and live moss into the blender with water and blended it. Then I swirled the eco-web mount in that slurry. The moss started growing on the mount almost immediately. I anticipate that it will be mostly covered with moss within the year.

Wow, that's a tiny flower. Really interesting how you are growing it, it's looking happy.

Nice work. I suppose you keep this in a nice moist and bright environment to keep the moss happy?

Very cute! and love 'your growing method' too. Yes I'd love to know too - where do you keep it?

Thanks for looking and commenting!
I have a 30 gallon terrarium where I grow all my little orchids. Here's a link to an exhaustive blahblahblah about the growing setup:
Sophronitis coccinea
I like the Pleurothallids that have kind of an upright 'tufted' growth habit. I like the aesthetic of pots, where the plant is on top. That's why I've gone this route for mounting. I will probably end up lining at least one wall of the terrarium with Eco-Web and mounting plants more traditionally there, but it will only be because of space constraints!
