Really nice. Can see why it's at the top of your favorites. The picture with so many flowers is spectacular.
You say it's flowers are short lived, how long do they last?

Hi Rosie,
The first bloomed opened the week before our last society meeting which was on the 26th of October and they are still open and will likely go another week, so about three weeks. Maybe I'm a bit picky - the Oxyglossum Dendrobiums last 6 months or more.

OK, not too short but not massively long either. My Masda veitchianna was about 3 weeks on the last flower, it's on it's second flower now but I didn't make a note of when it opened so I'm not sure on that one.

Perhaps now that the weather is cooler it'll do better.

I've just counted up and the first flower was actually open 4 weeks not 3. The second flower opened shortly afterwards and has now been open 4 weeks and is still going at the momment.

When I first started with orchids 30 years ago I used to keep records of every bloom, every fertilizing, every repotting, every time the plant went to a meeting or a show. Now I just "wing it."
