TELIPOGON ¿?

i don´t think so ... this is a strange specie difficult to find and difficult to cultivate ... most of them die

Many Telipogons originate from the very high Andes (2,800 m - 3,000 m).

Plants from those kinds of altitudes need very specialized care.

It never really gets above 65 F to 75 F during the day. Nighttime temperatures are regularly in the high 30's F to mid 40's F. These are pretty much year round temperature ranges.

They are also sometimes shrouded in clouds. So humidity may also have to be pretty high.

Dormancy may be involved with some species. And some may go deciduous.

I think they may be in the Maxillaria tribe.

These are definitely odd little guys. Too bad they're a bit too difficult for me to even warrant a try.



Trichoceros spp. have similar looking flowers and are much easier to grow, but still a pain to bloom (fyi).

Exactly ... and if you get the plants that high conditions the flowers are diferent than in natur... I get a telipogon Hausmanianus with a dark yellow color and the next time it blooms in a light yellow color... is a strange plant and is very dificult to find...
