Work buddy - Masdevallia
This Masdevallia Hampshire Prolific is blooming for me in my office, in s/h, and (gasps) under my table lamp!
I got it about 2 month ago without blooms so I am taking all the credit and i get to literally watch it grow when i am bored at work.

Really cool!
And yes, if you got it without blooms then you can take ALL the credit In my experience getting a masda to bloom even after they spike can by tricky. Mine blasted on it's first attempt but is having another go now.

Oh yeah, and how great to have one at work. I don't have enough light or even a table light so don't think it would work for me.
Interesting that you are growing S/H. I had not thought of that for Masdas, mine are in moss even though I don't usually grow in moss.

Thank you!
My AC at home was broken. It was over 95F outside and my Masdie was shedding leaves like crazy. So I took it to work as there is always AC running. And it was doing better than ever! So I just left it there. Too bad I dont have window so I have grow under desk lamp.

happy masdy in the office!!
nice happy masdy wants to have a job too ...can he type?
I have some orchids in the office where I work and someone spilled hot coffee all over one and I took him home and he was wounded...ruined the bloom and one part of him was dying from being burned by hot coffee..
I like having some work buddies too.

Sorry, Anisa - I'm going to take some of the credit on this one, too.
That's a hybrid I made!
I was tired of Masdevallias being only for specialized growing conditions - I crossed the two best-performing plants we had (in Phal-growing conditions) to make the cross. The parents are Copper Angel 'Highland' and floribunda.
