Those ones really do look slug like curled against the moss like that. Really cool!

I'll try to post a picture of my little 'portable' bog as I call it
I read you blog post about the little bog of horror, liked it a lot! Especially the way you describe how you have to walk on the floating mat of sphagnum. I have done that in bogs in France years ago, it is scary if you know how deep of peat moss lies under the floating mat and that you could sink in it very fast... Archaeologists have found very well preserved bodies (due to acidity of peat moss) of prehistoric humans in some bogs in France

They are native to the the two counties south of our county, but the plant in the bog where we looked for them are almost all introduced - even the butterworts and cobra lilies, though both are native to that county.
