Wow! It is beautiful! Such a large flower for such a small plant.

Thanks for looking, Anisa - the large flowers in proportion to the plant are one reason this is a favorite of mine.

Ron,
Thanks for having the picture of the whole plant and the plant size on your blog. It's so helpful! Particularly for those with minimal space (I'm guessing that's really most of us) it's great to know what we'd really be getting into if we get a certain plant.
As always, the photos and text are beautiful.

Thanks for looking, Duane. I remember being frustrated years ago (still am sometimes) because I'd see a plant I wanted and get it only to find it was way to large for my space.

Gorgeous. That whole plant shot looks spectacular with several flowers like that. Really nice.

Interesting that you have it mounted. Do Masda do well mounted in general or only some of them?

Stunning flower and plant (the pic of the mount is superb!!!)
I was also wondering about mounting one of my Masdies which is supposed to be an epiphytic (Byrsella ex Masdevallia velifera)
Can you tell us how is it mounted and how do you keep it moist enough? It looks like you have a bit of sphagnum moss around the roots and spontaneous moss growing on top. Is the mount a piece of western red cedar by any chance?
