Gorgeous..

Ron... go to your photo, right click and select the size you would like to post. then in the window, right click and copy the image location. post it here in OB using the symbol "insert image" (the one that looks like mountains under the moon) and that's it... ok, it will notredirect you to teh flickr page when you click on the photo, but the link given by Flickr for that does not work...

you can add the link to the flickr website below:

Unbelievable! Great job - I really wish that I could get masdies to bloom.

Until then, I'll just have to drool over your pics.

Good growing.

Ramon,
Do you know how to create a thumbnail link? Or is that not possible with the new Flickr pages?

Very nice indeed Ron.

What would you say is the most contributing factors to your success with this specimen? Could you possibility share some details of how you got it to the point of blooming and thriving?

Hi Keith,
I'm not sure what is the most important factor in growing M. constricta. I grow most of my Masdevallias in net pots in rather loosely packed sphagnum. I collect my own live sphagnum. I don't have any objections to what's commercially available - this is just cheaper. I've found that for me tightly packed sphagnum just doesn't work. This particular plant is grown in sphagnum in a clay pot, which I think keeps it just a tiny bit cooler. It is grown under four T5 HO lights at a distance of about 24 inches. Winter temps are 55-70, summer temps about 60-75, and I try to keep it a bit cooler at night. I water every day with a tank spray (2 gal) with a pinch of 10-30-10 fertilizer in every tankful, though I occasionally skip the fertilizer. Good air movement (four fans in the grow case) and humidity which rarely goes below about 70% are quite important. I'm not a very scientific grower, as you can tell, but have done well with most Masdevallias in such conditions.
There's pictures and a description of my grow case at: Orchids in Bloom: My Orchidarium, but it's much more closely packed than the first picture indicates - the second picture, though of an earlier case is more like packed condition of the case.
Thanks for looking.

Another option to insert a flickr image with the active link :
When you are in Flickr, on the main view of a picture (like this page for example IMG_27175 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!)
click on 'Share this' button on top of the picture, and choose 'Grab the HTML',
then select the size of the picture,
then choose BBCode (it won't work with HTML !) just below the size
then click in the code above, it will be selected all at once, copy it (crtl+C on PC, Cmd+C on Mac) and paste this code directly in your OB message (do not select the Insert image option which you add some tags).

that's it, it works great ! and the link to flickr appears below your picture and the picture is clickable.

Beautiful picture of the Masde by the way

S.Kallima, thanks a lot! somehow I missed the option for the BBCode during the Test phase of the new Flickr environment... that's even easier than my former way to post the pics...
