Hey,
I already knew not to use tap. I use distilled H20 with my D. lotax and this masd.
I unpotted, the roots look great, definitely not root rot. There weren't really any "old" roots to clip off. There were several new growths forming, as well as a new flower stalk.
I cut off all of the affected leaves I could see with 70% isopropyl sanitized shears and dusted each cut with cinnamon.
I repotted in brand new sphag. My plan is to keep an eye on it and see what happens. I am not sure if this is bacterial or fungal...
Here are some pictures of the root system.

I am not 100% sure, but if the weather is hot the plant can suffer inside the parcel. I just had a similar problem with a catt because of the shipment during hot summer days. They can react a little bit later after a few days. Maybe they are more sensitive after being confined in a box....
The differences are:
- on my plant the spots stopped spreading (At least, for the moment) and the afected area begin to dry. -- the leaves are green around the spots.

Do you all suggest that I contact the grower? Or is this likely my fault?
I also wondered if it was mesophyll collapse, which can happen when a plant experiences cooler temps (Seattle has been miserable this summer, we haven't been over 75 F yet!)...
I have no idea what is going on. I am a little disappointed, as I have had several orchids, and no problems with them, and have had this damn plant for 4 days and it is having issues.

Don't be desappointed. You have plenty of healthy leaves and roots and nobody can tell you exactly what happend. As far as I know, the vendor is responsible until the plant is in your possession. Afterwards, theoretically is in your care.
I am not an expert, I just want to help, but I think your plant will be fine. Please, keep us posted.

Not your fault.
Not the fault of grower.
Something just happened without you or the grower knowing.
You can contact the grower to see what his opinion on it is.
The roots are okay. They could look better. But it does look like it has plenty of roots to sustain itself and grow.
As Nico said, it could also be the temperature difference. I don't know where you live, but, if you got them from Mountain Orchids, think about where the grower is from (Vermont). Could be a factor, idk.

Wanted to give an update:
The Masd. seems to be fine. I removed all of the damaged leaves and then just watched. So far, no new wounds or anything else suspect.
Thanks for all the advice guys!
