Default Masdevallia ignea
Purchased this plant in October 2006 as Masd. coccinea. Imagine my surprise when it bloomed out differently! It's one I've wanted to own. I just love this flower, and the colors are fantastic in person. Hope you guys love it as much as I do! I'm including three photos: one taken in the shade, one taken in the sunlight, and a top view. That is some HOT colour!
I wish I had the guts to grow a species like this. These intensely red ones like these really like it cool right?

Yes, I think it likes it cooler. I've had it outside in my shade house though I plan to move it into my terrarium once it finishes blooming. That's for the nice comment!

The plant is in a 3" clay pot, and the flower measures about 1 1/2 inches? It's smaller than I thought it would be.
