What is AC?

An air conditioner. Most basic units for the home can drop the temperature to 60 without any problem. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for explanation! Sounds like a good idea for big growing areas. But if your plants live in the same room with you... it is not pleasant to freeze at hot summer night....

lol...yeah you are right. Personally I sleep better when its cold in the room so I guess its not much of a problem for me. I keep the house about 70 in the summer and the basement is naturally a little cooler. With the lights on during the day the heat goes up a bit and when they are off at night the temp naturally drops a bit. The fact that the plants are moist all the time and a fan runs 24/7, that also helps keep things cooler.

Well then that definately is a bit of a problem. There are a few warm growing species and new hybrids come up everyday, they are usually more warm tolerent.

It doesn't help. I'm in love with sophrs and telipogons. I'll try Peltier elements....

Wait!! Sophronitis likes it cold?? I have a Sophronitis cernua, and I was under the impression that they liked it warm. Maybe thats why it didn't bloom for me yet

Cernua is the most warm tolerant specie among sophronitises. Moreover, there are two different cernuas - some live near seaside and like it warm. Others prefer a bit colder weather. I have a book about them, but I have to re-read it to remember more details.

Wow, so how can you tell the difference between the seaside S. cernua and the other one? FLower color? Seems to me like the description of two different species as you would not fine both together.
