DRACULA VERY BIG ¿?
Look what I found in a small town in the cloud forest in the north of Ecuador... The flower is very big about 25-30 cm.... and the flower grows (not so common for a dracula) erect like a masdevalia... enjoy this beauty that I finally got for $5....

I think is something between dalstromii and gigas... an natural hibrid???? another specie???? |

Beto - I had meant to respond earlier then became distracted and never finished the post. Wonder if your species might be Dracula polyphemus. There are various pictures of this species on the web. In Thesarus Dracularum it is noted: This handsome species is not uncommon, but it is apparently restricted to the tall, wet forests of western central Ecuador...It was first discovered by Dr. Benigno Malo... Vegetatively Dracula polyphemus is indistinguishable from all the other broad-leaved species of the genus. The large flowers, densely spotted with a dark reddish brown, are readily distinguished by the large, white, lightly concave, trapeziform lip.
