Default Masdevallia Veitchiana spike collapse

Hi

Recently acquired a M. Veitchiana which I thought was doing well. There are lots of new growths and leaves look ok. There was also what looked like a flower spike. It was growing well but now has collapsed, almost folding in half.

We have had fairly wet and humid conditions and not too hot.

Any idea what could/would cause this? Would a photo help?

Any advise appreciated.

John

I've had this species and other Masdevallias abort spikes in response to a change of environment. You mentioned that this was new - perhaps the move is the cause.

Thanks Ron

I think I was too hopeful that it would continue on its merry way and flower for me.

Hopefully it gets used to the new environment (which I hope is suitable) and flowers eventually.

Cheers

john

I've not found it hard to flower, Johan. You shouldn't have any difficulty.
