Just pick this one up during the summer - first time bloomer with 5 spikes.
A warmth tolerant hybird Dracuvallia (Masdevallia floribunda x Dracula hirtzii)

Fantastic! Didn't know Dracs would cross with Masdies, but makes sense. I like the oranges.

I didn't know they crossed either--what sort of culture do you give it? Is the cross as fussy as a drac or does the masdie make it a bit easier to accomodate? Do you have to grow it in a special environment? How about humidity?

I like it, I think the cross is neat!
Mspatt - I can't really give you an idea's on the other dracs since I don't grow any. And the one I have is only a half-drac.
This one has not been difficult for me, I grow it along-side my masdie floribunda.
They sit under 4 tubes @ 4foot T-8'S. RH daytime is mid 50's nitetime mid 70's.
The day time tempts sit around 72 degrees, night time 68. During the summer humidity will be higher but so will the tempts mid 80's.
Media - 40/40 peatmoss and smallish bark, 20% of perlite mixed with charcoal.
Watering with disstilled 3times per week with heavy mistings 3x per week.

Very pretty spots and I like the idea that it is warmth tolorant.

I'm "trying" to grow some Masdevallia ......so far I haven't killed any yet
