Default Pleurothallis talk By Lynn O'Shaughnessy

We had Lynn as our speaker for our GVOS meeting last night. She showed slides, spoke about culture, and gave general info on many from the Pleurothalliad Alliance. I really learned a lot, and enjoyed her presentation. If you have a chance to hear her, you will enjoy it.

Of course, she also had plants for sale. I didn't know there were so many different Pleurothallis. I didn't feel especially brave, so I stuck with the Masdavillia assortment .......but I left my self control at home

Ted, these are what I bought

A couple of them were in bloom but most of them were either 2" pots or tiny plugs. I did get one 3" and 3- 2 1/2" plants. Her plants looked good but they were mostly seedlings or divisions of her plants.

Ted Khoe 'Gina' is the orange one and Pixie Shadow is the light purple one, which has turned darker today. She took quite a large assortment of other plants which I had never seen before.

Her talk was very informative and I was sorry when it was finished. I could have listened for another hour except I became very tired. I had just got over the H1N1 flu. Believe me, you don't want that. I was not aware that it was so painful, every inch of me hurt. A couple of times the tears just ran down my face. I supposed my age, I'm diabetic, have kidney problems, and heart problems possibly made it worse. I'm OK now but it sure is taking me a long time to get my strength back again. My poor orchids went for over 4 days without water. My Vandas were screaming at me but they are still alive.
