Masdevalla Machu Pichu 'J.V.'
I've shown photos of my other plants before but this plant was given to us earlier this year as a house warming gift and as such it's a new plant even though it's technically a division of the same plant.
Anyway the flower is quite large and the colour is amazing. Enjoy!!!

Thanks for so much beauty, so early in the morning.
I bought a Machu Picchu but it hasn't bloomed yet. Now I can't wait. It has so much meaning for me because I visited Machu Picchu more than 40 years ago. It was very primative then but so breathtaking. There was only one other couple on the mountain at the time we were there.
I wish I could re-visit it again. I'm sure it is very different after all those years. At least I have fantastic memories and, if I had the talent, I could write a book about the 4 days we spent there, and our unusual experiences. To say it was primative is an understatement.

I would love to go there Marilyn and hopefully one day I will. I hope your Machu Picchu is an outstanding one and I look forward to seeing the photos.

Machu Piccu...
I have a fairly large one of these guys, and it's been dropping leaves like crazy. ; ( When I picked it up, it had 6 blooms, which immediately died, but it was doing well for a month or so, but now I'm worried..
Any tips? My relative humidity is always at least 50%, it's in a sheltered room with semi-bright light, but nothing directly on the plant of course.
My first thought was that airflow might be a problem, going to rig a small fan to fix that issue. Anyone have thoughts? It looks really root-bound, should I re-pot?

yes repot immediately. Check the roots, cut away any dead or dieing ones, and pot in fresh, well aerated media. Sounds to me like you hit it right on the head, not enough air movement/too much soggyness around the roots.

Thank you...
Two days with a good fan in front of it, and it's perked up immensely. Looks like a few new leaves coming in to replace the ones it lost.
Phew. Thanks!
Next up, repotting.
