I originally posted this on the Identification Forum. After
a quick email to Lynn O'Shaugnessy and looking at other
photos this appears to be a very nice specimen plant of
Specklinia nee Pleurothallis grobyi. How many of you
Pleuro People would agree?
It may very well be Pl.grobyi,or a close relative. They are so similar looking, that flower dissections to compare with publications is essential.
Try the Icones Plantarum Tropicarum series, they have reliable drawings of the parts.
Otherwise, enjoy the plant, its obviously very happy.
Thanks. It's not my plant. I photographed it at a
Massachusetts Orchid Society Show several years ago, but neglected to record the identification. I have another Mystery Mini posted in the ID Forum for which I'm also seeking an ID if you care to take a look at it.
Looks like Specklinia grobyi to me, and a very impressive one too. If you're just looking for a plant that looks like this one and so don't need a 100% ID on the plant in the photo, then go for Specklinia grobyi for sure.
