I just bought on of these guys from Tropical Orchid Farms in Maui - nice plants, by the way! A great place to buy species plants. I appreciate the info and pics, everyone. I now know to keep a close watch on this plant to be sure it is warm enough. Happy growing to all - Don in CA

It's not warmth you should be concerned about. Warmth doesn't trigger blooming. Keeping them cool doesn't either. Plths restrepioides is temperature tolerant. It can be over 100 F blazing hot or 36 F cold, and they'd still be alright.
It's not just how bright they're being grown as well, (they can take it pretty bright for a Pleuro; I grew it a bit shadier than my Cattleyas).
They like lots of water and consistently moderate to high humidity. That's what seems to do it. I'd say a humidity of probably somewhere around 80% or higher.

CONGRATS MAURO... you have a lot of patience and love for this pleuro... I think this plant needs some outside conditions to bloom... some plants have a clock inside...
CONGRATS.... lots of CONGRATS... you have a beautifull big Pleuro... i´ve never seen one of this before, and is from here, from Ecuador... maybe I need 6 years to find one ????? Lot of time.... How is the smell???

Very nice inflorescence! And a real beauty.
I have to agree with King of Orchids on the Keiki issue. I have only seen it happen on plants that are not to happy about their growing conditions. Like the plant is trying to reach out and move to a better place.
