Default Australian Orchid Conference - Aquisitions

Hi all,

This is our major show which occurs in a different Australian state every 3 years. This is the list of plants i've bought so far and I've been given permission to buy more. What do you think of the selection? The Masdevallia is incredible and I can't believe I bought it for the price I did. It's award quality and should be competitive on the club benches......not that it's important to me......he he he.

Masdevallia Rubicon 'Beenak Wine'

Paph Quirola 'Virginia'

Masdevallia Blue Angel - this is in bud and I will post photos when the next bud opens.

Cym Wyong Flame 'Dural' - an exceptional hybrid and I have a division of the plant now.

Flask of: Paph (In-Charm Greenery x Sunline) 'White Cloud' x Stone Lovely 'Green Angel' - This came from Orchid Inn in the USA, Sam was here for the conference as well.

Not much so far but as I have permission I will be getting a few more fingers crossed.

;-)

I know what you mean, i've been bringing a little home each day. Fortunately I am driving distance but next time when it's in Western Australia I will have to be more careful.

Are you guys not permitted to take plants from one stae to another, can you get a permit to transport from Vic . to WA. I wanted to take some Cymbid backbulbs from my brother Colin who lives in Melbourne to Perth and then home to South Africa, but this cross border stuff had me worried , is there a way around this ??

Generally you can take plants across state lines but two states (Western Australia and Tasmania) have some restrictions. As long as the plants are checked by a Quarantine station and sprayed it should be ok.

Gorgeous flower. The leaves are impressive too. Thanks for sharing it.
