What's too warm Paul? All of mine are in a window in the house and do just fine.

yes, i also would like to know what is too warm. what temperatures do you get in victoria? minimum and maximum?
i have read that if you get very hot days (just a few, like 15 days+-) you can put the masdies in the fridge during the night. they stand these temps, and it´s a way to help them survive

yes!! with those data you´re encouraging me to buy one or two haha because we get almost the same temperattures here (less hot in summer, in my balcony it´s usually only 25º celsius), and don´t you take them in in winter? do they handle almost frost?
it´s got a reallly amazing colour, and the one of the other thread is... i love them!

Well I have had some light frost here this year and they did ok. I can't see any cold damage and they are all flowering as well as when the winters are warmer.
No, I don't take them inside. The only plants I have inside are seedling tropical paphs, Phals and a couple of Bulbo's.
