weird flower. I wonder if it's one of the ones that trick pollinators by imitating a potential mate?

the thread rating system is based on votes - if somebody decides your thread is not that good, they can give it a lower rating, and it will be averaged out.

I totally understand that. What really gets me is every rated thread has got five stars (at least lately) and the thread starter can rate his/her own thread too. If the thread contents and photos are so average, in some cases, below average, then it should not be rated five stars, even if the thread starter is your best forum buddy.

I've been wondering about the rating thing too. A few of my very ordinary threads have mysteriously grown a bunch of stars, even tho I've never rated a thread by anyone, let alone myself. Curious.

Until this thread I never even knew that you could rate a thread...!
But now that I know you can, I did go and mark one that I thought was worthy as it is an educational goldmine of information.
