Default Masd. Ruby Slippers 'Rolfe's Jewel' x Masd. calura 'Makawao'

Plant is from I.N. Kamoda and is warm tolerant. I grow all my Masdies in fine bark or Paph mix and water with pure water as often as every-other-day or so. They like to not dry out. I run 3 small fans 24/7 to keep constant heavy air movement. This way they make it through summer warmth. The area they grow in maxes out in summer in mid 80s (F) and runs mid to low 60s in winter and spring.

Thanks for looking

I love it!

Are you saying your high temp in the winter and spring is the mid 60's?

Beautiful Ross! I wish I could grow more Masdies! Most are usually cool growers and my temps are more intermediate year round! I do have a few I am giving a try though!

Highs this time of year get to maybe 85-88 degrees F in afternoon. Lows at night drop to whatever outside temps are doing (right now 60s.) Winter/spring highs struggle to get above 70F during day and drop to high 50s (maybe 58 or so) at night - usually highs are where we set the thermostat (68). Hope this helps. Most masdies don't do well above 80 degrees. Warm tolerant is just that - tolerant. I have between 15 and 20 Masdies - most are warm tolerant.

Thanks for the explanation - it sounds like yours do not get any natural light to warm an area up beyond what a thermostat is set.

I find my masdies can take (not like) daytime highs in the mid 80's if they get the night time cool down with lots of humidity.

Beautiful color and delicate shape! Another winner, Ross! I don't know why I don't have any Masdies. I definitely have the temps for them. I really should try Masdies and other cool growers.
