Default Where do Masd. flowers grow from?

I have one Masd. and it continue to produce leaves but my question is where do the flowers grow from the excisting leaves or from the base of the plant??

I have never seen a picture of a Masd. in bloom showing the entire plant.

Thanks - Sheridan

Hey there, Sheridan! You see the little sheath around the base of each leaf? The inflorescence pokes up from in there, from the base of each leaf. ...Was trying to find a photo to show what I'm talking about, but you are right! Can't seem to find any that clearly show this.

Masdevallia flowers bloom from the base of the plant.

Thank you Ivan and King for the photos. Now I know what to look for. My Masd. seems to be doing better since I took it out of the Orchidarium. I guess the high light was damaging the leaves. Its in the bathroom where its much cooler.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will bloom for me.

Thanks Again - Sheridan
