Small Masdevallia with Slug-like Flowers

I have one of those that I bought from a fellow OBer. It has never been out of bloom and currently has 10 flowers and at least one more bud. It is such a pretty orange.

Mine, too is rarely out of bloom, Connie - I sometimes worry that it's going to bloom itself to death.

I actually saw one of these at a show in March.

There was a school there where they had an orchid club that was growing orchids and even polinating and growing the seeds. I wish we had had clubs like that at school!

They were selling some of the plants they had grown and also had a big display. On a tree branch in the display were several mounted orchids including one of these in flower near the top.

It looked fantastic, such a facinating orchid flower!
