Default Masdie growers ...

Hay All,

My masdie floribunda had a nice flush of blooms in nov of last year. A couple of days ago I noticed a bud and its comming up fast - its the only one so far

I've read that some masdies can rebloom but know very little about the habits of the floribunda.

How many times do these bloom per year?

TIA

Under good conditions, the floribundas can bloom any time, even several times a year. You must be doing something right! Keep doing it!

I agree.

At least several times a year is possible, maybe more. Let's see the photos when it blooms for you.

How exciting!

I know many are sequential bloomers off the same spike so don't cut it when it drops the first flower. I just checked OW and floribunda can be sequential with up to 2 flowers per inflorescence. Yay! Looks like the heaviest flush of blooms occurs in the early fall.

Tia, want to let us in on how you are growing yours. I have one and it just keeps sending up new leaves. Its in my orchidarium. I would be interested how often you fertilize etc....

Thanks - Sheridan

Terri, I think you're right on about the fall flush, thats pretty much what happened to mine.
I did learn thru that last buddings that is is indeed a sequential bloomer, a very cool lil masdie.
Thanks for the info

Sheridan, My floribunda sits under 2 -4ft long floura lights - 6in away. Its in a combo of mostly sphag, bark and small perlite. I soak it 2x per week, although that will increase as the weather gets hotter.

Ferts - 2x per month 1/4 strength to bring my PH to 68 also using distilled water.
I bounce from Miracle gro # 8-7-6 to 24-8-16.
Tempt range from 68 to 72 during the colder months. Then, it'll hit as high as 85 degrees during the warmer season.
