Those are very healthy.. I'm sooo jealous! My 3ft fishtank with Masd. Dracs etc is not going so successful but then again I'm trialling semi-hydro with hydroton.

What mix are you using for yours?

Damian.

They are in a fine bark mix with a bit of ground peat mixed in. Nothing fancy.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I might try fine bark with any of my Masdevallias, that refuse to take to semi-hydro with hydroton. I've tried mixes before with sphagnum moss/perlite/bark/chc etc but couldn't get the watering right.

One things for sure IME they love growing in high humidity,

I didn't notice- do you have drainage or do you have to siphon water out sometimes?

This advice is exactly what I needed to push me into growing these little beauties. I have an empty tank just waiting! and a cellar! I was thinking of mounting them and hooking the mount onto the tank. This is new territory for me. Appreciate the direction.
If I can not place the tank higher toward a window, 12 watts will not be enough? correct?

Really nice set up. The own house definitely better than a flat. Unfortunately my husband thinks different.

Not necessarily. It is possible to organize guided tours to Basement Botanical Gardens.
