Wow, even the Orchid God had humble beginnings! Good to know!

For now I'm working on giving away some of my non-orchids to open up space. I had already filled the house with other plants before getting into orchids when I was 15, and I keep doing so even as I try to make room for the chids! I just can't help it! I love all things photosynthetic (ok, almost all, but who can love things like poison ivy or scotch broom?). I seriously need a greenhouse. I could move someplace where I could grow everything outside, but I'd miss the seasons. I need at least a short fall and winter, and so do some of my favorite plants!

You may not have to give a whole lot of your plants away. There are smaller Draculas out there. Dracula inaequalis is not only a temperature tolerant species but is also a miniature. Other smaller Draculas are Dracula lotax, Dracula psyche, Dracula carleuri, and Dracula sodiroi.

As with all pleuros don't over do it with fertilization, and they need RO/DI or purified water. Water high in dissolved salts will easily give them leaf tip burn, and may lead to premature leaf droppage. They flower with moderate to high humidity.
